CUSTOMIZED SERVICES

include, but are not limited to:

ASSESSMENTS

While many families are aware that changes are taking place with their senior, they’re uncertain about the action they need to take, so it’s important to start with a complete assessment of your senior. The most beneficial assessments include physical strengths and weaknesses, evaluation of personal care, day-to-day activities and functional mobility, safety issues, and a complete study of the living environment.

HOME SAFETY CHECK

Identifying any environmental issues is a critical issue for most families.

CARE PLAN RECOMMENDATIONS AND FACILITATION

Once the assessments and safety checks have been completed, recommendations are provided to family members so they can make the most appropriate decisions for their senior.

DOCTOR & HOSPITAL ADVOCACY

Regardless of age, everyone is entitled to excellent medical care. However, busy doctors are often impatient with seniors who may seem to require too much attention. In order to ensure that your senior is receiving the best care possible, it is necessary to provide an advocate who can accompany them to medical appointments, track medications, implement physician recommendations, and be present in the emergency room during a crisis, if necessary.

MONITORING, COACHING AND SUPERVISING CARE-GIVERS

How do you know if your senior is receiving the best possible care? Understanding the complex needs and requirements of the elderly can be a challenge even under the best of circumstances. When you live far away or have time constraints that prevent regular visits, then you are at an even greater disadvantage. With someone overseeing all aspects of your senior's care, including the screening and interviewing of potential home care providers or caregivers, you will be kept abreast of any developments as they occur.

HANDLING DIFFICULT SENIORS

While no one wants the ordeal of a fussy and difficult senior or the agony of a family in conflict, sometimes these situations occur.. Drawing from a lifetime of experience, Dorothy is accomplished at handling human dynamic issues and dealing with difficult situations. Sometimes families and Loved ones become embroiled in clashes over money, care options and/or assessment results. It is important, as much as possible, for families to be unified, so that short and long-term care decisions can be made collectively. Dorothy is available to facilitate family meetings, if necessary.

OTHER SERVICES

Periodic management of families able to handle some aspects of their elder care.

Appropriate referrals regarding legal, medical and/or financial services, and community programs.
